Magnum circuit breakers with Power Xpert Release (PXR) | Eaton PSEC
9:37
Delve into the details, benefits, and operation of a low-voltage breaker embedded with a remote racking device. Eaton’s Magnum circuit breaker with Power Xpert Release (PXR) trip unit offer greater insights into system health, accurate testing, and enhanced communication. With the addition of Eaton's Integral motorized remote racking (MR2), operators can now rack breakers in and out of cells while outside the arc boundary. In doing so, the MR2 increases operator safety by mitigating arc flash exposure. Follow along as Mitch McClain, Product Manager for Low-Voltage Air Circuit Breakers, explains that the PXR trip unit is the same trip unit found in the Eaton’s Power Defense and NXT breakers, creating a standard trip unit platform. Edgar Medina, Power System Experience Center Manager, gets Mitch to explain details such as: • The Magnum PXR with MR2 design • How tertiary connections allow for control • Breaker racking options • Benefits of racking breakers with MR2 • Remotely racking a breaker with MR2 • Safety interlocks • And how the MR2 motor is protected Learn more about Eaton’s Magnum PXR circuit breakers here: https://eaton.com/magnumpxr Thank you for watching one of our many educational videos on the topic of power systems. Schedule a visit to one of Eaton's Power Systems Experience Centers in either Pittsburgh or Houston to learn more!
